Can The Internet Stop A Destructive Cult?
The Body International is a website about cults originally conceived as a means of shining light on a destructive organization from Nikiski, Alaska called The Body. The URL was secured when word got out that The Body was splintering and had spread internationally.
Unfortunately, ubiquitous keywords like “the” and “body” made it difficult to reach our intended audience, so it became necessary to pivot. Now we are an irreverent online magazine that’s about cult stories from all across the spectrum of undue influence produced by writers from across and beyond America. The hope is to be a resource readers can use to learn about this phenomenon broadly. If we can build an audience that’s interested in cults we might just be able to fulfill our original mission yet.
